Open Letter to Alexandra Grant

Dear Alexandra Grant,

While I was searching for the original photo I made this head sticker from, I had the opportunity to thoroughly browse your entire IG page. It was interesting to see your evolution.

You started out pictured mostly with friends and family. (What happened to Florence?) Getty'Images shows us events you hosted. it was clear it was mostly you holding your own, an independent woman, working towards a goal.

While I may not respect your personal goals, I can appreciate the effort it takes to organize something like that successfully. I'm not a materialistic person nor do I wish for the world to look at me with admiration. Being handed an expensive purse as a gift at a dinner event would mean nothing to me. Imagine all the good that could have been done for those who have nothing with the money paid for each of those purses? That's where my head goes.

You want to swim in a small pool of privilege and excess. It would seem that all the "philanthropy" you do, which you photograph, gets cancelled out by your greed and desire for the finer things. You have no idea what it means to struggle and wonder where your next meal will come from. Art is lovely, but it's not a necessity. There is so much more you could do to help if that was really your goal.

Instead, you have chosen to use a famous man to help you get a leg up and get your name out there, but the problem is, what has happened is your whole identity now depends upon him. People now only invite you because they want him and if they don't get him, it is a disappointment.

The symbolism of your collaborations with Keanu tells the story. You've become his shadow (book of shadows) and your ode to happiness is a joke and contradiction. What is on the cover doesn't reflect the true content. It was just a vehicle to get what you really wanted.

The Artist's Prison put the artist in prison because you had Keanu signing Eve Wood's book.

But in the end, you became that artist in prison because now you are not the renowned "Alexandra Grant" you wanted to be,. You're now reduced to being " Keanu's girlfriend".

What will happen to you when you are no longer Keanu's girlfriend?  Who will you be? No one.
